PR Account Manager Position

Desired Skills and Experience

  • full time, experienced executive level position (minimum 3 years experience in the same position)
  • 3 – 5 years of communications, PR or marketing experience, including some combination of in-house/external marketing communications and media relations
  • strength in prioritizing workload and deliverables to meet client and team deadlines in a fast-paced environment that will include multi-tasking across multiple, diverse clients or projects
  • strategic experience conceptualizing and producing integrated communications programs for diverse audiences
  • passion and energy to establish and foster relationships with local, national and international journalists and influencers with the ability to translate these connections into media opportunities
  • team-oriented, collaborative, daily working style, with focus on putting team needs ahead of individual advancement
  • the successful candidate is highly adaptable to change and flexible
  • a creative and strategic writer with an an eye for detail and consistency in one’s work: self-starter with excellent personal standards and a strong history of commitment, follow through and accountability
  • social media knowledge – management experiences
  • Google adwords/display system knowledge

 

Tasks:

 

  • liaising on a daily basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email;
  • relationship building and networking with colleagues, clients and the media;
  • monitoring the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs, for opportunities for clients;
  • develop client proposals and implement the PR activity;
  • preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings;
  • researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media;
  • promoting news stories and features to the media, known as ‘selling in’;
  • collating, analysing and evaluating media coverage;
  • event management, including press conferences and promotional events;
  • attending and promoting client events to the media;
  • assisting with the production of client publications, such as in-house magazines;
  • commissioning market research;
  • coordinating studio or location photography;
  • undertaking research for new business proposals and presenting to potential new clients;
  • managing the PR aspect of a possible crisis situation
